HARTING again a top candidate to win Hermes Award

The HARTING Technology Group has again demonstrated their innovative prowess – for the second time in a row HARTING has been named among the top 5 nominees for the Hermes Award that is to be presented at the opening ceremony of the Hannover Messe on April 23, 2006.

Valued at 100,000 euros, the Deutsche Messe AG Hermes Award is one of the most. esteemed international technology prizes. This year 81 companies are competing for the renowned monetary honor awarded at the Hannover Messe. HARTING Mitronics AG in Biel (Switzerland), a subsidiary of the HARTING Technology Group, has been nominated for their new innovation – a passive UHF RFID transponder that provides the necessary information vital for perfect warehousing and comprehensive container management.

The demand for greater reading ranges for RFID applications in transport and production logistics, even in the vicinity of liquids and metals, is constantly growing. This includes having information about the manufacturer, contents, production date, serial numbers and the owner of the "item" available at all times and the capacity to also store new, updated information about the item.

As an initial product for an entire series, HARTING is presenting the HARfid LT 86 (HT) passive transponder with a detection range of up to five meters. The nomination for this award shows that this technology group has once again recognized and set the trend of the times with their innovative product.
